The idea for this show was inspired by my trip out to L.A. Driving around really tripping out on the signage on the liquor stores, apartment buildings and motels. Took allot of reference photos. From there i started sketching on paper and the computer.
Ron and I were feeling that look so much, that we just figured we should build a few of our own. So i collected as much scrap wood i could find around my hood and started sketching the layouts in 3D.
We pretty much had all the verbage work out, because we keep a continuous list of slang, insults, words, Phrases,inspirational messages, and concepts in our archives. It was just a matter of picking the words we wanted and finding the best layout that fit. I think it all worked out in the end. Sorry for the bad pics.
